This year your help is needed… Please join us by donating funds for Special Olympics Rhode Island!

Each year the Credit Unions of Rhode Island work in partnership to raise funds for its charitable partner, Special Olympics Rhode Island. As one of the top three corporate donors, the credit unions have been committed to Special Olympics Rhode Island and their athletes for more than 23-years. Funds are raised through a diverse number of events and initiatives and pooled toward a collective goal which was set for $110,000 in 2020.

The unique circumstances caused by COVID-19 in March have changed the way our credit unions raise funds. Social distancing guidelines have prohibited us from going forward with several of our events including the annual Bowling and Golf Tournaments. The closure of our credit union branch lobbies for several months stopped the sale of our Sweenor’s candy bar fundraiser. 

Special Olympics Rhode Island was also affected during these tough times and canceled many of their fundraisers and athletic sports competitions including their in-person Summer Games. They have found “virtual” ways to engage with athletes; thereby keeping them connected and motivated.

We hope you can help! The Credit Unions of Rhode Island have setup this page to accept donations in any amount from our employees, members, vendors, friends, and family to support Special Olympics Rhode Island. Together, we can reach our fundraising goal and keep the valuable programming intact for the Special Olympics Rhode Island athletes when it is safe for them to return together in person.
