The Expo consisted of 30-minute group discussions on the half-hour from experts covering the topics of qualifying for a mortgage in today’s world, credit and credit scoring and closing costs and title insurance. In addition there were a number of exhibits including a special real estate area where topics such as affording your new home, first time home buying, selling your home and RI Housing were discussed. Other exhibits covered cover credit, closing facts and figures, inspections, appraisals and homeowner’s insurance.

For the second year in a row, students from Warwick, RI's Toll Gate High School participated in a CU4 Reality Financial Literacy Fair sponsored by Wave and held at the Radisson Hotel Providence Airport. During the Fair, students interacted with Wave representatives and area businesses as consumers with a career and monthly salary. The Fair allowed students to apply the knowledge they gained during the school year on managing their personal finances and budgeting. They experienced firsthand the realities of making ends meet monthly for expenses such as food, clothing, housing, utilities, transportation and other consumer temptations. As a result they gained a better understanding of the importance of making wise financial decisions.

Also at the fair, Warwick, RI Mayor Scott Avidesian presented a proclamation to Wave and Toll Gate High school celebrating Toll Gate High School Financial Literacy Day in Warwick.

This year Wave awarded scholarships in two categories...our regular scholarship category and a business scholarship category. The business scholarship program recognized two Toll Gate (Warwick, RI) high school seniors, Kayla Lopes and Colin Stamps, pursuing business degrees and who participated as part of Wave's yearlong CU4 Reality Financial Literacy Program and Fair. 2012businessscholarshipgroup
